About Dr. Russell
A Warm, Compassionate Licensed Psychologist Here to Guide You

Therapy is more than just a place to talk. The therapy space is sacred, as finding safety in relationship to your therapist helps reestablish safety in your relationship with yourself. You already have everything you need within you to find peace, and therapy is a guide and light back to that place. I am your company along that path.
As a Psychologist, I have had rigorous training in psychological science. I have worked in many settings, including outpatient treatment, a health psychology clinic, a residential treatment center, in schools, in a psychiatric hospital and in a trauma focused clinic. My experiences have shaped me into a thoughtful, trauma-informed, effective clinician prepared to address a wide range of issues. I have a PhD in Psychology, which means I have experience in both providing therapy and researching what works in therapy. I am both a scientist and a practitioner, which has prepared me well to be an effective Psychologist.

My work and education has led me to understand that mental health care should be compassionate, loving, responsive and put you at the center of the journey. If you are interested in individual therapy, you have come to the right place.
About Dr. Canyon
I strive to create a therapeutic environment where individuals can explore all aspects of themselves. Utilizing an integrative approach to psychotherapy, I place emphasis on the therapeutic relationship and the unique needs of the people I work with. I view therapy as a collaborative space to navigate the inevitable complexities that arise during a lifetime, exploring both conscious and unconscious narratives with curiosity and care.
My approach is primarily relational and insight oriented. This means that I place emphasis on the importance of the unconscious and underlying emotions that inform your interactions with yourself and the world. I believe that by taking the time to explore the context and history of the symptom or problem you are experiencing we can better address it. I have a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and have received training from psychoanalysts, cognitive behavioral therapists, and trauma/somatic informed practitioners in a variety of settings which have enriched my practice. I am truly passionate about what I do, allowing me to be present as both a human and a psychologist.

I am committed to increasing access to mental healthcare for rural populations. I am a fellowship-trained Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the states of Colorado and New Mexico. I also hold Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) from the PSYPACT Commission, allowing for services in 42 states (see map here: https://psypact.org/mpage/psypactmap).
